Veronica Filippi finished arts high-school "Pietro Selvatico" in Padua with Maestro d'Arte. During that time she studied transverse flute with Adriano Gobbin and piano with Adriano Lincetto, Stefania Jenescu and Ines Scarlino.
She studied singing at the Padua Conservatory "Cesare Pollini" and graduated in 2002. In the same year she made her debut as Rosina in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" by G. Rossini at the Belcanto Festival in Dordrecht (Netherlands) with conductors Giuliano Carella and Conrad van Alphen.
She took part in master classes in Italy and abroad with Adelisa Tabiadon, Katia Ricciarelli, Michael Aspinall, Ugo Benelli, Liliana Poli, Alvise Vidolin.
So far she has worked with directors Ulisse Santicchi, Lorenza Codignola, Massimo Pezzutti, Daniele Rubboli, Luca Ferraris, Marco Bellussi as well as Il Gran Teatrino "La Fede delle Femmine". In 1999 and 2001 she participated in Alberto Terrani's class "Il Teatro e la Musica".
In 2001 and 2008 she ran concert classes at Padua University.
Currently she is continuing her studies with William Matteuzzi and Sherman Lowe.
Competitions
Third prize at the international competition Città di Camaiore in 2000. In 2004 she gained a post-diploma scholarship from Compagnia San Paolo di Genova. She won the national Dino Caravita competition in 2003. She reached the finals at the Concorso Internazionale Giovan Battista Velluti in 2005 and 2009. And in 2006 she secured the first place at the Concorso Internazionale Giovanni Pacini.
Opera
Her operatic roles have so far included Rosina (G.Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Fidalma (D.Cimarosa: Il matrimonio segreto), Dorabella (W.A.Mozart: Così fan tutte), Zerlina (W.A.Mozart: Don Giovanni), Angelina/Cenerentola (G.Rossini: La Cenerentola), Isabella (G.Rossini: L'Italiana in Algeri), Fenena (G.Verdi: Nabucodonosor), Maddalena (G.Verdi: Rigoletto), Suzuki (G.Puccini: Madama Butterfly), Frugola (G.Puccini: Il tabarro), Nutrice (fostress) in "Il principe porcaro" by the renowned Italian film composer N.Rota (world premiere at Teatro Goldoni, Venice, later at Palafenice, Venice, with the orchestra and choir of Teatro La Fenice, director Manlio Benzi), Bellarosa in "La calamita de' cuori" by B.Galuppi (premiere in modern times at Teatro Goldoni, Venice, during Festival Galuppi in collaboration with Teatro La Fenice).
In these roles, she has appeared on stage in: Dordrecht (Netherlands), Trento, Milan, Lecco, Mantua, Venice, Padua, Genoa, Aosta, Grado, Bologna, Cremona, Pescia, La Spezia, Lucca, Udine, Vicenza, Asolo, Panicale, Chiusi.
Concerts
Outside opera and apart from lieder and aria recitals her second focus lies with sacred music. She has sung concerts in Italy, Austria and Germany with works by G.Allegri, A.Vivaldi, J.S.Bach, G.B.Pergolesi, W.A.Mozart, G.S.Mayr, G.Verdi, L.Perosi, F.Poulenc, A.Copland, L.A.Sabbatini.
Two major concerts broadcast on Italian national TV were:
the official celebration of the 30th anniversary of Caritas Ambrosiana in Milan (with maestro Pier Angelo Pelucchi) and the concert celebrating the restoration of Padua's famous Cappella dell'Arca del Santo.

In recent years
In December 2010 Veronica Filippi was invited to Bergamo to sing the title role in Rossini's La Cenerentola. This performance was meant to be Bergamo's homage to the city's famous mezzo-soprano Giulietta Simionato deceased in 2010 - Filippi's role model.
A Venezuela tour with conductor Guido Maria Guida planned for 2011 had to be postponed Veronica Filippi being scheduled to sing Rosina again. ("Il barbiere di Siviglia", G.Rossini).
During the 2011 Venetian carneval season she sang the female protagonist in "Pimpinone", an intermezzo by T.Albinoni at Teatro Goldoni.
Active in her social commitment, Veronica Filippi participated in gala events of the charity foundations Città della Speranza, A.I.L., Associazione Résonnance-ITALIA.
In October 2011 she sang during Padua's official celebrations of 150 years of Italian national unity.
